What Disadvantages Do Families Face in Communication?

1. Giving orders or directing: When members of the family give orders to one another, the person receiving the orders feels unimportant. He always feels compelled to follow what others instruct. He has a fear of acting on his thoughts and desires.

2. Constant Warning, Intimidation: If you add intimidation to someone who is being warned constantly, anger and hostility will develop in that person.

3. Teaching a moral lesson: Phrases like “you should,” “you should teach a moral lesson at home,” etc. Instead of issuing commands, the good and the truth should be taught through more precise means of communication.

4. Giving advice and providing solutions: Constantly giving advice to someone and providing solutions to the issues they have encountered shows that you don’t trust them.

5. Judging, criticizing, blaming, and disagreeing: Judging, criticizing, and blaming kids has a very negative impact on them. Loss of self-awareness. These messages have the greatest detrimental effect on the child. The youngster feels unworthy and inadequate.

6. Praise, sharing the same opinion, offering positive assessments: Praise is not thought to have a negative effect, but if a response is expected from the child following these praises, this situation causes anger in the child. Praise is meaningless if the child realizes that the parents are using it as a means of achieving their goals.

7. Calling people names or making fun of them is wrong. The child’s development is negatively impacted by it.

8. Interpreting, analyzing, and diagnosing: The individual is restrained from speaking and expressing his or her feelings.

9. Sharing feelings, providing support, comforting, and trust: When there are issues in the family, this information should be shared. Children in particular should not be passed on to or comforted. The person feels ignored if their problems are not discussed.

10. Questioning, testing, and testing: Questioning and testing family members breeds suspicion and mistrust.

11. Breaking one’s word, stalling, making fun of others, acting jokingly, changing the subject The trust is eroded if family members fail to keep their promises to one another. Whether an action will be taken or not, this should be made explicit in the proper terms and with the proper justifications. The other person’s trust is damaged by procrastination. After a while, he stops believing in even the promises that can be made. Every event loses its gravity if we approach it with humor. Not all of it is a joke. It is important to take family issues seriously. Other family members may think the young child’s issue is a straightforward one. However, this needs to be taken seriously. The treatment of children shouldn’t place them in the minority.
The family is the most significant institution in society, and the family should continue with open communication. To achieve this, every family member needs to develop effective communication skills within themselves. Parents, in particular, teach their children how to act and what is right and wrong. Each individual deserves to be respected.
